Sometimes when I look at the little "Where do you come from-map" to the right I get completely amazed about where someone has been reading my blog (or at least accidentally happened to click on it). Just noticed one spot in the middle of Saudi Arabia and one spot in the middle of the vast piece of land that is Russia.
Some of the spots I more or less know what persons there are behind. I know some of my friends and family are reading and I know in what places I know people how know about my blog. Others might be explained by the fact that I have written something about that particular place. But others! I am just amazed and fascinated. Please feel free to let me know what brought you to my blog and what you think about it.
So, this is my way of updating my friends and anyone who are interested in knowing what I am up to out there in this crazy world. The name Goodrun, was the misspelling of a Zimbabwean colleague in Harare, but I think it is good. It is me, isn't it. A good run! :-)

Ahead of time or simply late news?
Today I had the pleasure of feeling ahead of time. At the established debate and documentary TV-programme in Swedish TV, Agenda, they had a big part on the Afghan TV show Afghan Star, which I can pride myself to have written about here on this blog two years ago. Maybe I should have become a journalist after all.

Photos from Afghanistan
In case you are awaiting pictures from Afghanistan and you haven’t noticed, I have been starting to post some, but under the headings where I feel they belong, although that means that they will be put under “older” posts. Was considering to putting them all together as in an album, but decided for the other option, to put them in their context. Hope you don’t mind.

Welcome Afghanistan!
Finally I saw on the cluster map in the margin, that someone in Afghanistan have been reading my blog. That makes me happy! Welcome!
While I was in Afghanistan myself I thought that me logging on to the blog would leave some traces, but it did not! But now finally someone there has found my blog. Please feel free to leave a comment!
I will be going to Afghanistan next week again so maybe soon there will be more posts from Afghanistan on this blog.

Travelling from the Couch
I have just done something I very rarely (never?) do. I have just re-read a book.
When I was at my parent’s place for Easter I found Åsne Seinerstads book The Bookseller of Kabul. I read it when it was quite new and liked it. At that time of course I never knew I would go to Afghanistan, even though I have always wanted to travel to that part of the world. Now I thought it could be interesting to read the book again, after having been there myself. It was. It definitely gave another dimension to it. I recognised a lot of the things, places and situations she described. But I could also better understand something else. The author has been criticised for the way she treated the family in the book; for putting words and thoughts in their mind that she could not know about etc. That is also something that I have been thinking about when writing on my blog. Of course my blog is not by far read by as many people as her books, and my blog is mostly for showing friends and family what I am up to, but as anyone can go in there, I still have tried to show respect and to be careful when choosing the pictures to post and about not mentioning names and sites etc. That is one of the reasons I did not post any of the pictures that I took at my driver’s home and the reason I haven’t given his full name etc.
The movie based on the book The Kite Runner went up on cinemas in Sweden this weekend. I liked the book and think I would like to see the film, but still I am afraid to get disappointed. I am afraid the feeling and atmosphere I got when reading the book will be difficult to capture in a film. And the trailers I have seen on it has seemed a bit “flat” to me. But maybe I will still have to see it. Anyone who has seen it and can recommend or comment on it?!

Welcome Africa
For the first time I have received a red dot on my "visitors map" in Africa!!! On the huge African continent I did not until now seem to have one single visit. Until now!! And now I was just informed about the provider of the map that it will be archived after one year! That is sad in a way, but still I am kind of happy that I managed to get one registered visitor in Africa in one year.
It is specially funny and interesting that the red dot is in the middle of Sahara! In the middle of Algeria! The funny thing about that is that me and a collegue planned to go there in December, go to Tamanarasset. That is a desert resort in an oasis in the middle of the desert. The pictures I saw of it looked great!! I would have loved to go there, but it was rather expensive, too expensive for us. It would be fun to know if "my visitor" is from there...

Hello Africa!
I am a bit fascinated by the cluster map on my blog, that shows where you people, who are visiting my blog, come from. Some of you I know,:-) but there are definetly many who I don't know.
I have to admit that I really don't know many people in USA for example, so you must be still unknown friends. But the strange thing is the amazingly white spot over whole of Africa. I do know some people living in Africa, who I think might check my blog sometimes, but still not one single red dot!!!
So if you live in an African country and happen to read my blog, please leave a comment so I know you are there!

Too little travelling in the normal life!
Hmmm, it is a bit sad that I haven't had anything to write on this blog in a long while. It means I have not been travelling as much as I want. I was wondering what would have happened if I had accepted the work in Abuja or in Dhaka. Would that then still have been considered travelling or "normal life"? I mean if I really would have stayed there and worked??
Well, that is not an issue right now anyway. I will stay in Sweden for the nearest future and I dont think my moving to Kristinehamn will count as travelling!

New Name?
Hmmm, I have been thinking whether I should change the name of this blog or not. Somehow it seems less apropriate to call it Travels 06 anymore. But on the other hand, just to upgrade it to 07 isn't too creative either or...? Maybe just Travels? Or maybe just leave it the way it is? Any suggestions?

The Normal life
If there is anyone who still checks this site and wonder what has happened to me, I can inform you that I have started writing about my "normal" life on another blog. Somehow it did not feel right to write about it under the name Travels 06..
